you will be automatically entered into the dressage league at any point during the season. With a trophy for highest point scoring coloured horse, veteran horse between 15 -20 years and veteran horse 21years and over.
Results for the league will announce on the 25th September at the Championship Dressage show.

Our Clear round jumping is a relaxed, fun and easy way to practice a full course of coloured fences with fillers in the higher rounds without the pressure of being at a competition. There’s no need for show gear - this is the perfect event for after school/work training! We cater to all riders and abilities with heights from 40cm up to 110cm
Pre book and pay via Paypal, additional tickets will be available to purchase on the day. Collect your tickets put your ticket number on the board outside the ring, warm up and wait for your number to be called, if you go clear, collect your rosette.

Class times are approximate and will be updated on facebook 24hrs before depending on the number pre entries.
Course walking is available 15 minutes before the start and whilst the course height is being adjusted, for the following class. Course details will be displayed outside the ring.
Warm up is on a well covered grass paddock.
The arena with the course will be available the following day for private hire
£15 per hour, plus £5 per additional horse, maximum of 3 horse at any one time.
UNAFFILIATED DRESSAGE WITH LEAGUE - USUALLY EVERY SECOND FRIDAY EVENING AND EVERY LAST SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH. MAY- SEPTEMBER. with a 2 DAY CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW IN SEPTEMBER.
Our dressage competitions are friendly relaxed and fun, a great introduction for new competitors or seasoned competitors with young horses and everyone in between.
Please see the event calendar for dates and send entry payments via bank transfer, these details will be sent to you within 48 hours of receipt of your entry email. Classes £15.00 each. Rosettes to 10th place - Prize money for 1st -3rd if sufficient entries in accordance to BD rules. 1st place £17.00 2nd place £12.00 3rd place £7.00. Closing date 3 days before competition. Judges for Brightwood this season; Jo Stannard, Emma Wakefield, Janice Young, Emma Openshaw, Judy Bates, Sandra Joyes and Natasha Edwards All competitions are run under British Dressage rules.
Late entries may be excepted at an additional cost of £2.00 per class. Dogs are to be kept on a lead. No lungeing. Warm up and parking will be on grass. The judges decision is final Horses must be 4 years old or over.
Hard hats to AS015,BSEN1384 or ASTMF1163 standards must be worn at all times whilst mounted. Withdrawals please see rule 38 and 39 in the 2017 British Dressage rule book The show organiser reserves the right to refuse or reject any entry and withdraw or amend prize offers or cancel classes at their own discretion The show organisers/owners of Brightwood equestrian accept no responsibility for any damage, loss or accident, injury to owners, riders, spectators or any other persons or property whatsoever, however it may have occurred.
ARENA HIRE is also available for private use and/or instructors.
RULES
Hats which meet British standards -PAS (1998 or 2011) 015, VG1 provided they are BSI Kitemarked, must be worn at all times whilst riding.
Body protectors must be worn by all competitors under the age of 16 years whilst jumping.
You may have a maximum of 3 attempts at one fence, then you must move on to the next fence.
You are allowed no longer than 5 minutes in the ring for each round.
If you fall off in the ring, you may NOT continue with that round.
If you have 2 falls at the same event you may NOT continue.
You will be asked to leave the ring in event of misuse of the voice or whip and any other misconduct.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Brightwood Equestrian have taken every caution to ensure your safety but will NOT be held responsible for any accidents or injuries however they may occur and they accept NO responsibility for any damage, loss, accident, or injury to owners, riders, spectators or any other persons on the property whatsoever.
Brightwood Equestrian reserve to right to refuse your entry or allow you to continue to jump and withdraw or amend prize offers or cancel classes at their own discretion.

Shows and Clinics - 48 Hour notice is required for a full refund.
Livery Contracts -
One calender months notice is required for change or cease of a livery contract with payment due on day of notice.
We hold regular weekend clinics with various instructors to suit all ages, abilities and levels. We also hold training and fun days throughout the year for adults and children (separately). Please see each individual events for more information and booking details and the calendar for dates. PRIVATE ARENA HIRE is also available.
International Dressage rider and trainer Keith Robertson has represented Great Britain on multiple occasions at CDI Grand Prix level and trained a wide variety of horses through all levels and trained national and international competitors.
Keith will be able to progress your knowledge in these one to one sessions with his coaching, ridden work, in hand training or TRT based sessions. No problem (or horse) too big or too small.
Lewis Carrier is an International Grand Prix Dressage rider and coach, who currently trains with Carl Hester. He was on the U25 Grand Prix European Team in 2019-2022, the Young Rider European Team in 2018 and is currently a World Class Podium Potential Athlete, having great success, including wins at Premier Leagues and top three placings at CDIs, most recently finishing 3rd at Royal Windsor CDI4* with 77%. He was also first reserve for Aachen Nations Cup in only his first year at this level.
Kim Ratcliffe, formerly a City Corporate banker, I escaped the rat race in 2001 to take up coaching (both equestrian and human) full time. A List 1 dressage judge, a National Para judge and British Dressage (BD) UKCC Level 3 coach/trainer and I am also a Certified Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner, Many of you may have also heard my voice from running the Radio Nationals radio station and commentary team. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for the sport when training judges around the country.
Stephen is a BDCC uk coach, with previous experience as the yard manager/rider for international dressage rider Lara Edwards. he was also had training with Tracey woodhead, Becky Moody and Toby Hewlett, He has 20+ years worth of coaching experience, competed through the youth BYRDS scheme and has produced multiple horses and young stallions through the age classes
A two-day camp at Brightwood. Both days will include a flatwork lesson, a pole work lesson and various workshops. Riders get two nights stabling and all meals are included This is a great opportunity to meet other local riders and have some fun with your horse. This is a small, relax camp which can meet everyone’s needs from young, nervous, quirky horses or new, nervous riders all the way up to GP horse and rider combinations, Open to BD members and non-members alike.
Laura is based in West Walton with her small string of show jumpers. She has competed up to and including 1.30 classes on the British Showjumping national circuit qualifying for many different classes and championships, including The Nationals. Laura produces her own young horses herself through the grades and is looking forward to her first homebred being ready to start her ridden career.
Laura currently rides and trains a variety of different horses and teaches riders of all levels.
Emily Lochore is an established and well respected name in eventing. She is currently still riding at international level having competed ay many 5* events including Badminton and Burghley. Emily enjoys coaching partnerships of all abilities from beginners starting out all the way up to advanced level and above.
Emily is very flexible to suit you and your horse’s needs, providing training in a relaxed and friendly environment.

The price for the above is £300.00 per calendar month.
Our Retirement livery package STABLED consists of the following;
Annual vaccinations and annual routine dental visit, regular farrier trims and regular worming. feeding breakfast turnout, 7.30- 8 am approx, rug change ifneeded, a full muck out, fresh water, ad-lib hay - soaked or steamed if required and 2 branded feeds per day, poo picking of the paddock, catch in - 2/3 pm approx, rug change if needed, feet picked out and a light groom , feeding dinner, evening skip out and late night check., this is 7 days a week. Our holiday livery packages are bespoke to owners requirements, PLEASE GIVE US A CALL TO DISCUSS YOURS.
Here’s are a few details of what we offer; for our Ass DIY customers the hay and bedding is provided on site, The hay is large 6' bales (equivalent to 10/12 small bales) £45..00 The bedding we use is Sundown yellow a dust free chopped rape straw @ £10.75 per bale, Grade A shavings @ £10.50 or Straw Pellets @£7.50. There is NO straw, paper or cardboard allowed on the yard. Daily turnout which is Individual or in pairs and limited 24/7 summer turnout.

Livery Contracts - A £200 deposit is required to hold a stable with one months payment in advance, running from the 1st of each calender month. Additional services , hay, bedding etc will be invoice at the end of each month and money due within 7 days of the invoice date.
